How long is my application kept?
Resumes are kept on file for a period of 12 months from the date that they are received.
When will I be contacted about my application?
Resumes and Application Forms are stored in a secure database until a position opens up to external candidates.
I heard that there is a posting at HCH, will I be considered?
Holland Christian Homes is a unionized workplace. The terms of our Collective Agreement with the union dictates that all positions be offered first to existing employees.
External candidates will NOT be considered for opportunities posted within the facility. Positions which are available to external candidates are posted on this web page.
How often do you hire?
Because of the application process for unionized employees, we generally see our part-time staff moving into full-time positions and our casual staff moving into part-time positions.
External candidates are generally hired to replenish the pool of casual staff who have accepted part-time positions. The frequency that we hire to replace those casual staff depends on how many internal vacancies are filled, and by whom. This may happen once or twice per year.
I volunteer at HCH, does that help my chances?
Yes, as a practice we will consider qualified applicants who are volunteering at HCH before looking at other external candidates.
